Q:

Why is marriage a romantic thing?

A:  Because you are vowing to spend the rest of your life with someone and two people become one. That is a huge deal. Nothing says ''I love you'' like marrying someone. It is not just a legal thing. It is a covenant between you and your spouse and God. Because when 2 people love each other and want to spend the rest of there lives together getting married is a very romantic thing to do, believe me when you fall in love you''ll get how get married is romantic. :D. Its not romantic. Its war! No crap, it is the most difficult thing to be married and stay married. I hate it. It''s romantic when both persons are virgins when they get married... if one of them is not virgin, such marriage will always lack romanticism....

Q:

Punishment for fraud?

A:  As for whether he's done this before, you can check local court records or hire a PI to do a wider background search. If he was holding himself out as an accountant, you can check if that is an actual fact as well as file a complaint with the CA board of accountacy. Their website has all the information and is at this link http://www.dca.ca.gov/cba/ You might also talk to the local police department. For all you know they may already be investigating him based upon other complaints. Good luck! "He probably wont show up...gets away with it and keeps on doing it!?! What is wrong with this picture and why is this so???" Lots of bad people do lots of bad things. It happens. "Will he have a mark...

Q:

Why do some people think adoption is bad?

A:  This is probably the wrong forum to ask this question. Know that sounds funny, because this is the adoption section, but what I have come to learn from here is that people have different ideas of what is good and what is bad. Some will complain about their adoption and then in the next breath when confronted about it, they will deny hating adoption. You are absolutely right, being a mom is MUCH more than giving birth. I know plenty of biological moms that have raised their children, and they should never have been a mom. And I have known women who would make amazing moms and never were given that opportunity. There is nothing wrong with you wanting to be a mom. If you choose to adopt go about it ethically though. I have come to realize that not all adoptions are...

Q:

If it''s a commonly held belief that adoption is a good thing?

A:  ''Why is it that some here expect newbies to have been born with the knowledge that adoption is not always a good thing.'' Common sense. Nothing in life is always a thing good or always bad a bad thing. ''If mainstream media, movies, books, tv, websites, google searches only turn up the ''good'' how can you reasonably expect anyone to know any better?'' Where are these movies, books, tv that show adoption to be good thing? Movies or tv you''d either paint see adoption as being difficult process, or more commonly someone in the triangle is a really bad person. Agency based websites are always going to give you the good side. Google searches. BS. Its doesnt take long to find anything even slightly negative about...

Q:

Why do some many people think adoption is wrong?

A:  You might be confusing opinions about adoptive parents, with the adoptive process. I don''t know of anyone who thinks negatively of regular people who adopt children. What is offensive are the rich and famous who magnanimously buy kids from third world countries, solely for the publicity, as if they were getting a new puppy. Also, the bureaucratic process of adoption is ridiculously cumbersome, slow, fraught with scams, and outrageously expensive. Selling babies is big business. It''s invasive and offensive to both the child and the parents. There is no need for such a humanitarian gesture as adoption to be so degrading. This question gets asked at least once a week. It would be very easy to go into the resolved questions to find the answer. But it''s just as easy to copy and paste one of...

Q:

Why all the stupid sympthaty for killer Moat?

A:  I must admit, that up until now, I have never heard of Mr. Moat or his adventures. But now, after reading the posted comments and reading the news accounts on The Mail Guardian, I find little sympathy for him. Yes, things like this happen with greater frequency here in the States. A crazed gunman runs amok through the wilderness and the police organize a manhunt to find him. These guys are lucky to have found him so quickly. It is the negotiator''s job to persuade him to give up peacefully. Most often that works, sometimes, not so well. Ultimately, it is up to the perpetrator to decide how it''s going to end. The bit about the taser being looked at as a potential cause for Mr. Moat killing himself? A taser triggers involuntary muscle spasms. One cannot raise a gun...

Q:

Why gamblig is considered ilegal?

A:  Its illegal because if its not strictly controlled it can be an easy source for scams and crime. If not regulated, all games in vegas or any casino you would walk into would be fixed to have you more losing chances than normal. Hey, it may happen today and now, who knows. But its also illegal because some states choose it so. I dont know if its inmoral or not, I think its more a question of what happens around gambling: prostitution, crime, alcohol, drugs, etc. And why is it linked you ask? Simply because gambling attracts stupid people who cant control themselves. laws against gambling are derived from the Bible. A lot of laws are derived either directly or indirectly from religious teachings. In most cases,...

Q:

is this a bad time to invest in 401k?

A:  Yes, it is a good time. That is not to say your account won''t decline in value at the beginning. The important thing to know about the stock market is that over the course of a year, most of the gains happen over a short period of time. People who time themselves into and out of the market can do serious damage to long term results by missing only the best few days of the year. When the market goes down, your monthly deposits will be able to purchase more shares, thereby putting you in a strong position for when the market recovers. It is ALWAYS a good time to invest money for your retirement....

Q:

Ex suing me as co-signor on car - Is this possible??

A:  Opinion: I don't think that NJ is a community property state--but that doesn't necessarily eliminate the other party from liability, especially if it has their signature on it. It would probably depend upon what your divorce agreement states insofar as property distribution is concerned. I question HER right to sue you. The BANK is the lessor, therefore, it's money owed to THEM, not money owed to her. Consult local counsel. "My ex is suing me for half of what is still owed on a car she purchased that I co-signed for." Your "ex" what? Wife? Girlfriend? If the former, when did you co-sign on the loan? Before or after your divorce? If before, how did your divorce decree address the car and loan? "She feels since I am the...

Q:

What is a judgement, and what does it mean?

A:  Wow.. what a mess ! When a creditor sues you for a debt, the court grants them a judgment by default if you don''t show up for the court date. Judgments can mean wage garnishment (which I believe is NOT allowed in PA), garnishment of bank accounts, seizure of assets and liens on real property that you own (your house). Do you know what the judgemnt was for, why they sued ? If they''re foreclosing on the house, usually the only judgment that comes out of that is for any deficiency that might occur if the debt is not fully satisfied from a sale. You''ll have to go to court tomorrow, no way around that. I would have thought that when the CH 13 plan was finalized you should have gotten paperwork that explained exactly what you were supposed to pay the Trustee each month. If you''re
