Earlier this month, all the wives andgirlfriends in the village of Harby were spirited away for a Centreparcsmini-break, courtesy of the BBC. While they cavorted in Sherwood Forest''s"sub-tropical paradise", their men were filmed getting to grips with childcare,...

Q:

Something Doesn''t Seem Right?

A:  "Both of these men (one older; one younger than me) were brought in at a substantially higher salary than mine." That would eliminate age discrimination (not that you questioned it). The higher salary is apparently (in part) because they have a higher title. It could also include other things such as background history. "...He has now decided that my direct line authority should be substantially minimized so he can take over the more profitable divisions of the office and leave me with the more administrative aspects of the office." He's senior. I would presume it to be within his authority. "My officer title and salary has not yet been decreased and, while I now must report to this more senior person, my...

Q:

Why are more older woman dating younger men and marrying?

A:  this is gross. really older women younger men, umm....... NO! well i am 46 and my bf is 34 and who ever told you that lied to you, younger men tend to drink more which in turns make their performance the same as a older man, and older men do treat their women better or atleast most do, if they really care about the woman, while younger men even if they love the woman really they just treat them like a old comfy couch edit i did not say i did not love him, i have been with him for 6 years i know what he bad points are and good ones just

Q:

men, are my kids baggage?

A:  your kids are part of you. when a guy falls for you, he''ll love you for all you are, including your kids. my wife had 2 beautiful kids when i met her. i fell in love with all 3 of them. (and we added one more, after we got married). you need to find a man that is more mature... some men get upset because they aren''t the main focus of your attention.. so find someone who already has a child or children and can relate... Well, it is baggage of sorts. Not as much as your mental state and past experiences. That could be serious baggage. Just make sure you date guys who are "really" ok with kids and your situation. Don''t put your kids into a situation to get their feelings jerked around... When I was first...

Q:

What can my older daughter do to have my younger daughter removed from her home as she is a threat?

A:  In some cases where there is evidence of a threat to a person''s welfare, the police may detain a person for mental evaluation. Temporary restraining orders may also be requested from the court in some situations. A restraining order is a temporary order of a court to preserve current conditions as they are until a hearing is held at which both parties are present. A restraining order may be issued in a divorce matter to prevent taking a child out of the county or to prohibit one of the parties from selling marital property. Also, a person who is a victim of harassment may seek a restraining order from the court. The person or guardian of a minor who is the victim of harassment may seek a restraining order on behalf...

Q:

Reproductive rights?

A:  I don''t condone it but I can explain the rationale. Where child support is concerned, the courts don''t consider their actions the enslavement of men as much as they consider it providing for the welfare of a child. Once the judicial system has ANY kind of "hook" into a man, they will not let go. I have heard of this before - even if DNA tests conclusively prove that someone is NOT the father, there are cases where the man is still legally obligated to pay - if he has somehow "acted" as father and it would be "unjust" to take away support, etc. I would not be surprised at all if men shown to not be the father were still ordered to pay...

Q:

Integrity in America?

A:  I've known many others who were told this same thing by lawyers when they chose to stand up and defend what's right ... "Principles are expensive." All part of the plan. Make it all-but unaffordable to have an opinion you'll stick to, so as to create a population that rises & falls with the tide (government). Flotsam & Jetsam. Confused & scared. Makes them easier to handle. They have enough money to beat you down ... even if they're blatantly wrong....

Q:

Inappropriate questions in interviewIna

A:  Whether or not the questions were inappropriate or discriminatory depends on what the "new position" was. What was it? Your post is not clear. You write that you would have been managing the employees that interviewed you. That doesn't make sense. Why would people that you would manage be asking you questions during an interview?   It is not illegal to ask. And age discrimination only applies to people OVER 40. So to sue you would have to be able to show that the ONLY reason you did not get the job was because you have children. It's not all that uncommon to have panel interviews in which one or two of the panel is (are?) people you will be managing.  The last manager position I got had such an interview process....

Q:

Schedule changes. Discrimination? Michigan

A:  You may have protection under the Americans With Disabilities act (ADA). Under ADA, an employer may not discriminate against a person who has to care for a person with a disability. In other words, if they don''t offer you the same time off that they would for a person who had an illness, they may be violating disability discrimination laws. You can read more about disability discrimination at: eeoc.gov. Note: Not all employers are required to comply with ADA. It is applicable only to employers with 15 or more employees. My suggestion is that you talk with your employer, letting them know that you are requesting accommodation under ADA (assuming that they are required to comply with the act). They may not be aware...
