Q:

Maryland real estate attorneys

A:  Did you get a home inspection before you moved in? Was there anything in writing that stated your home was never flooded? Also, you may need to get flood insurance moving forward as most homeowner policies do not cover flooding. My advice is to contact a real estate lawyer immediately. Didn''t you send your own contractors / appraisals to look at the house before you purchased it? Where in Maryland do you live now? I am now living in Essex. Do I contact a real estate attorney because they didn''t tell me this prior to purchasing a home or am I screwed?...

Q:

What''s the right way to offer to purchase a short sale home in Arizona?

A:  Can you call the association itself on Monday? Ask them for a copy from their files, or if they won''t, how you can authenticate the contract in your hands as a copy of their standard contract. I''ve used standard contracts in the past in Oregon, and they were long and had a lot of what I thought was excess verbiage in them until I sat down with a real estate lawyer in Oregon who was a friend of a friend. He explained that all the areas that seemed fussy and complicated to me were put there by decisions made by the courts or opinions published by the state attorney general. In other words, they''re not there so much to commit you as they are there to advise you of the implied commitments...

What''s it like being a paralegal in Los Angeles?

A:  I am a paralegal in the State of Texas. While I can''t give you information on LA, I can say that I WAS planning on becoming an attorney. Right now, the market is over saturated. Don''t plan on finding a job as an attorney any time soon. My plan was to be a paralegal and learn as much as I could. Then go to law school. Do I think it is a good idea? Yes! They do not teach you the real-life skills you learn as a paralegal. Law school just teaches you the law. Being a paralegal, you learn quite a bit of what really goes on practicing law. You learn practical law. It will help you in law school. Do I suggest going to law school? No. I don''t see it turning around any time soon....

Q:

What are an Alleged Father’s Rights if the Mother Leaves the State and Doesn’t Tell Him that She is Pregnant?

A:  “If a pregnant woman leaves the state and has the baby without telling the alleged father, what are the alleged father’s rights?” I do not know of any State that would give an alleged father any rights to prevent the termination of a pregnancy or to force termination of a pregnancy. Even if a prenatal paternity action could be filed, that choice would still be left to the mother whether to carry the child to term. A Mother will be asked at the hospital who is the father, though she might answer “unknown” and that may go down on the birth certificate. There are other laws to establish a presumed father (i.e. she is married). Additionally if mother receives public assistance, the government will want to know who the father is for reimbursement purposes....

A:  You''ll make more money as a psychologist in a long run. Just be sure to pursue a doctorate''s degree to be a doctor in it. Most attorneys only make between 65 and 75k per year, contrary to the millionaire stereotypes. In fact, it''s a bad time to want to be a lawyer because the industry is downsizing so much since the economy lapped over. Be a psychologist. Don''t be the unemployed JD with a drinking problem who ends up having to see one. ;) You let people on yahoo choose. Do you like understanding how the mind works?. Encroachment of neigbor's trees over property boundary: what is the law in Georgia? Georgia

A:  I found this from Googling the SAME thing. My neighbor (who is sort of weird) has just planted 10 one foot tall trees right on the property line. I''m worried that they will grow onto my property and I will be the one raking up debris and such. There is really not that much room in between our homes and I feel that these trees are going to be a real nuisance. If you find anything out, please let me know because I''m super curious about the law and don''t really know who to ask about the law. Thanks, Mary Etta I found this from Googling the SAME thing. Q:

Is It Possible To Be An Honorable lawyer?

A:  All lawyers go to hell when they die. I have worked with attorneys for the past 12 years, and I felt that all lawyers were really not great people. Then I got to know them. Most of them are wonderful people who do their very best to be ethical and just to everyone. Every once in a while, I will run into one who is a bad seed. They were likely a bad seed before they became an attorney. Also, there are plenty of people who find that the legal career is not what they were interested in. They wanted to represent the "innocent only" and never the guilty. Then they found that it is really difficult to distinguish the two. You...
