Q:

Is it easier to get hired as a sheriff or police officer?

A:  Police officer. The job of Sheriff is an elected position. So it boils down to applying for a job and being accepted vs running for a public office. Im pretty sure you mean Sherriff''s Deputy, not Sheriff. If thats the case, than neither is really ''easier'' than the other to get hired, its all about which one is currently looking to hire, who you know, and your previous qualifications. Sheriff''s Deputy. Many of them start off working at the jail and get their educational requirements fulfilled while working there. They can then go out in the field. The are basically the same thing so the hiring requirements and difficulty would be the same. Definitely the Sheriffs dept. It''s normally an appointed position so you don''t have to test....

Q:

How long do I have to stay married to my immigrant husband? We''ve been married for 1-1/2 long friggin'' years.?

A:  Are you my Aunt :P I have a jerk of an uncle who got married and had a whole bunch of daughters with my Aunt and her name was Dina too. You''re probably not her though because my uncle never fixed his papers. Anyways you should get a lawyer if you can afford one to sort out the legal stuff. Good Luck :D I think the main problem is not about the ''illegal immigrant'' problem. The real matter is about your relationship. I think both of you already know about ''immigrant problem'' before you get married and both of you feel ''Okay'' before. But, know when your marriage not going well, every problems come up, include the ''immigrant problem''. So, first thing first, you need to do is fight for a very good relationship, then I believe every problem that come up next,...

Q:

How long do cops have to issue a warrant after a tip was made?

A:  A warrant is only issued on probable cause. A tip alone is not enough, it must be supported by other reasonable information. As long as probable cause is established, it does not matter how long after the tip the warrant is requested. However, once the warrant is signed by a judge, there is a time limit. This limit may vary by state law. In my state, it is 48 hours. A ''tip'' would be hearsay and not sufficient evidence for a warrant. But, there''s no limit on the time for a warrant to be issued. So, you''re drug operation is safe....for now....

Q:

How long do you have to be married before stepparent adoption?

A:  I believe there is a 6 month waiting period before filing to adopt by a step parent. Call your states attorney and ask. Why does he need to adopt her? Isn''t it possible for him to love her and care for her without having to lie about who you slept with to conceive her? If it''s not possible for him to be able to love and care for her without having to lie to the world about the circumstances surrounding her birth, then he doesn''t sound like he''d be very good ''dad'' material anyway. as soon as you get married you can. most states say 1-2 years. but talk to a lawyer in your state to find out for sure. depends on the laws in your state call the court house...

Q:

if I request that My first and only felony be exsponged does it have to be done?

A:  It would depend on how long ago the conviction was and what your record has been since the felony...

Q:

does it look to you that to feel safe law abiding americans will have to arm themselves?

A:  We''ll go back to the wild west. That would be cool. Honestly, it''s very important that citizens of this country have the option to arm themselves. Thieves and murderers will always be able to get their hands on weapons. It''s the honest law abiding people that need to have the option to have guns. Facts have shown when citizens arm themselves, crimes against the person decrease. More guns is never going to be the answer. All ''sane'' people in this country should be armed! It''s your ''right'' and responsibility! not to mention the thousands of people who died driving somewhere on the freeway and get''s shot randomly by an illegal immegrant in ‘07...

Q:

In driving lessons, how often does one have to check their front mirror and side mirrors?

A:  Ive recently passed and i took my test twice. I check them everytime im on a new road...new cars new road structure new surroundings to be wary on. I don''t check them as much as i should be but make sure u know what colour the car is behind you so you are kinda awhere of your surroundings like as a bit of a general rule my instructor would say ''NEW ROAD NEW MIRRROR CHECK'' Also be extra careful to check on roundabouts when people can cut u up etc. I actually failed my first test because of this (amongst a few other things) lol =) Try looking on a few websites, practice a million times over and don''t get put down by urself or what other people say. If you can try and have some time to focus on your lessons especially round your test date. Thats what i did. Good Luck. See below some...

Q:

How much would it cost to tag/register/plate a motorcycle?

A:  How the hell would we know? You didn''t even mention what state you live in. Somewhere between $5 and $500. Here''s an idea...contact the DMV in your state and ask them. Uh...registration = tags = license plate...they''re all the same thing. My ''09 Softail is like 50 bucks, I think. okay, you''ll have to check the DMV web site to find out about the tag fees and such, and call an agent to get insurance on the cycle before you even go to the DMV. The price for that will depend on your age, location and record, which you cleverly forgot to mention, okay....

Q:

Legally, can i still use my ID on the day of its expiration to get in to bars?

A:  till midnite of the 31st...better get it now and have no problems on sunday Yes they could, but it is their preference and their right to refuse. I wouldn''t be surprised if you got turned away because of it. Most bars are not willing to run the risk of liability, more so for something that is ''gray''. Do you self the favor and just get your id renewed. Have fun this weekend and be safe! I went to a bar the day after it expired and they let me in anyway, the guy did tell me it was expired. I''m not sure if they are supposed to do that or not, but if that is normal then it shouldn''t matter if you go out on Saturday or not. Yes, Legally you can use the expired ID to get into bars. you have to show a vaild ID. if its expired its not valid....

Q:

If you lose a professional license in one state, is it possible to get re-licensed in another state?

A:  It depends on the reason for losing the licenses. I have a license to practice law in my state. If my license is revoked or suspended and I move to a new state and try to get licensed through that state, I am required to notify the new state of my license status. The new state will request information from the old state . . . and it is likely that I would not get a license in the new state. Broad? You seem to be asking about every professional licensing requirement in all 50 states. Even limiting it to teaching, you are asking about 49 states. Why not pick one state and get on the computer and check their licensing statutes? I could tell you about SOME of the professional licensing rules in MY state, but that is not what you are asking....
