Q:

How do you make someone YOUR lawyer?

A:  You can have a ''Hey this is my guy'' relationship. However if you want assistance at the drop of a hat, then the lawyer may write an engagement letter for you to sign. This sets out basic terms of business and may include rates. In some countries, money laundering or ''know your client'' rules kick in at this point - the lawyer must get documentary proof of your address, and photocopy your photo id. After you have engaged a lawyer, they can represent you as well as advise you. Some lawyers won''t advise you, even in a one-off 30 minute consultation, unless you sign the engagement letter. In the John Grisham novel ''The Client'', the lawyer expected some money to...

Q:

How do you find a good woman?

A:  Your best bet would be in a church if you''re looking with someone with high morals AND faith. That being said, that doesn''t mean that all women who go to church are angels... Obviously, you''ve met some and you''ll meet more in the future, you just have to keep your eye open! Sometimes it happens when you''re least expecting it! Personally, I think its harder to find a good man...so let the seeking continue... Very difficult to find a woman like this. You will only meet a handful of them in your life. I was going to say ''a church'' as the answer, but I''ve noticed that even a lot of those women have succumbed to the modern idea of love Let me kow when you find the answer to this...I am lookin as well! I have tried the christian single websites, but most women are already set in their...

Q:

How do you address more than one female officer?

A:  You salute and address the highest ranking. If there''s a lieutenant, a captain and a major standing there, you would address the major. The others will reciprocate the salute, but you needn''t address all of them. Rank has its privileges. Just like if there''s a bunch of lieutenants in a room and a colonel walks in, you call the room to attention. If there''s a colonel in the room and a bunch of lieutenants walk in the room, you don''t call attention. i would say to address them by their rank. ie, if there was a group of captains, you would say ''good morning captain'', but only address the one in front. eye contact would be suffice for the others. if there were more than one rank, though (like a captain and major), you would address the major. You salute and address the highest ranking...

Q:

What if a bad guy comes to your house and steal money. do you shoot the bad guy or do you call the police?

A:  You are perfectly justified in shooting someone who breaks into your house and whom you believ is a threat to you or your family. So, I would do both, shoot him, then call the police to get that nasty dead body out of my living room. One guy suggested that you wound him. That may be very bad advice. If you wound him, he will be arrested, plead not Guilty and go to Trial. Even if he is convicted, you can realistically expect that he will sue you. While he won''t prevail, you will still have needed to spend thousands of Dollars to defend the case. He will get a few years in jail, and in no time, be back breaking into someone else''s house. If you kill him, there is no Trial, that part is done with. There is a chance that his family will come after you with a wrongful death suit, but you and...

Q:

Adoptees only! Why were you placed for adoption as an infant? How do you feel about it?

A:  I was placed around 8 months for reasons I''m not so sure about. In 5 and a 5/6 years I''ll find out the true reasons. But for now I''m going to ''guess'' that she was young and her parents forced her. Maybe she wanted me, maybe she didn''t. I hope she did, but I don''t want to set myself up for disappointment. I feel as if it''s just not fair that I have to grow up with people thinking my APs are my grandparents. It is damaging to a child. And all the taunting because I look so different from my parents. And the family 4th of July picnics where everyone had ''Aunt Sue''s nose'' and ''Grandma Jones''s ears.'' I was left out. I was excluded. I didn''t understand why when I was five. I wanted to look like, to BE like my family. No matter how hard I tried, I just wasn''t. And I never will be....

Q:

Foster adoptive parents--be honest!!! how do you really feel about your kids'' bioparents?

A:  Wow...What a hard question to answer. Honestly, I can''t stand either of them. I have tried to understand them, but I can''t forgive what they put my son through. His other father abused and neglected him so bad that Drew was hospitalized and he spent a year in jail. He had two other children that were also living with him at the time and he took care of them and did not abuse them. He singled Drew out because he claimed Drew was ''retarded''. His other Mother left his father because he was abusive to her. She left her 6 month od child with the abuser. I used to have sympathy for her. I used to tell myself that she was in survival mood and was doing whatever she could to protect herself. Now I am just angry with her. Last year we found out that one of Drew''s best friends was actually his...

Q:

Do you find the YA format limiting for education and discussion?

A:  Well since all you ever post is rants that could be why YA isn''t working for you. I dont think you need a google group, I think you need a stage Like KMA said this is a question and answer forum. If you don''t have legit questions why do you come here? I don''t believe the format here is the MAIN road block to discussion with open eyes, minds and hearts. The main problem, I believe it''s personal agendas wrapped in adoption reform and the opportunity to attack another member(s) of the triad and the toxic distrust of anyone (from any part of adoption) who has a true, sincere desire to learn or share their experiences. It''s like some members had decided that reform or their position on adoption is THEIR turf and no one out of the club is allowed to learn. A perfect example is getting TD...

Q:

As a whole, how do you view illegal immigrants?

A:  Also include people who call anyone against them as ''racist''. Yes, most of the settled inhabitants would view immigrants and more so illegal immigrants with a negative perspective I agree with your reasons but more than these reasons, there other reasons as well as to why immigrants in general and illegal immigrants in particular are a hated lots I agree there is no more room for immigration in north america- unemployment is at all time high Criminals. They ignore a countries immigration laws, then committ fraud and forgery making documents or identity theft of dead people. Then act like they did nothing wrong, ''well your laws are racist and don''t apply to me....but they certainly apply to those chinese immigrants...or anyone who isn''t...
