Q:

Apply for green card now or wait for citizenship?

A:  Dear Immigration Experts, Could anyone give me some advices on my situation? I got my green card almost three years ago. I just got married but my wife is in China. Since it is hard for her to get non immigration visa and come to the US, we will go to Europe next year and stay a few years. My question is, should we try to apply green card for her right now based on my green card or should we wait until I apply for citizenship first. Since we will live abroad, there is a risk that my citizenship application may not get approved, that is why we are thinking of applying now. Otherwise it doesn''t seem necessary to apply now since green card...

Q:

I am a military member whose resident is NY, but my wife is a resident of florida.?

A:  It will depend upon the state. Look on this website for info. http://www.revenue.ne.gov/ you make no sense here. you currently reside in nebraska but are stationed in new york? anyway, she will become a resident of whatever state she goes to work in because she will be earning income from that state. if she drives she will have i think 30 days to change her car tags. when i was in the military my state of residence was texas, no matter where i was stationed. when i got out i went to work in california and became a resident of that state now i am working in oklahoma and am now a resident of oklahoma and had to get oklahoma tags on my vehicles. We are currently stationed in NY also. My husband is in the Army. We both were able to keep...

Q:

My husband is in the Army but I only live near an Air Force base. Can I get my Military ID made there?

A:  Hello Lauren, ABSOLUTELY. You can obtain your I.D. card at any military base, active duty, reserves, national guard. I presume that your husband just joined the Army and is in either Basic Training or Army technical school (AIT). OK. Make sure your husband has entered you into the DEERS system (Defense Enrollment and Eligibility Reporting System) so that his marriage to you is recognized by the military. Then, all you have to do is call the Pass and ID section at that Air Force base and find out the hours that they can make you your I.D. card. On AF bases they will probably tell you to just come in and first come first serve. It only take a few minutes - snap your photo and thumbprint - electronic, and out pops your I.D.

Q:

Can I drive people without licenses/permits IF someone with a license is in the car too?

A:  You personally cannot drive without a license or permit. If you have a permit, you can drive with someone 21 or older or with a family member 18 or older. If that adult is in the car, then it doesn''t matter if there''s a 2 year old or a 90 year old in the backseat, you just have to have a permit with the adult next to you in order to drive. Yes. As long as you have a permit and there is at least one licensed person over 21 in the car, then yes. It all depends on what state you live in. There are different regulations in each state. YOU need to have a license or permit, and if it''s a permit, the licensed driver must be in the passenger front seat next to you....

Q:

My bro was drunk driving and hit a traffic light, i think he will have to pay damages to the council ?

A:  If he is prosecuted for the drink driving, then he would probably have to pay for the repairs to the traffic lights as part of his punishment, along with points on his license and a fine. Yes his PD (property damage liability) insurance would pay for the damaged traffic light. But once he submits the bill to them and they find out he was drunk when this happened, his insurance rates will go up for the next 3 years due to this. They may even decide not to renew him and he maybe looking at high risk auto insurance to buy due to the dui. He hit the traffic light and he owes for the repairs or replacement period. If not for the drunk driving, this would have never happened. Over 10 years as a...

Q:

My dad got caught with an illegal gun in the house, how long will he be in jail?

A:  Neat. the FBI finding a gun of an Indian national supposedly in LA and he is in LA jail. FBI does not place people in the local jail in towns like LA where they have a Fed metro lockup. They do not just charge with a gun. If they really got a warrant there is a lot more going on. but there is not really happening since this is your fantasy. At least try to get facts straight before you but this stuff out. If a person is arrested solely for a handgun with no record he can normally make bond in a few hours. The FBI didn''t just choose your dad''s house to search from a hat. They went to his house to search for a reason and I seriously doubt it was becasue they heard he had an illegal gun. The FBI have far more important things to do. Either...

Q:

My uninsured, un-MoT''ed car was crashed into, whilst parked down my road - is that illegal?

A:  It is illegal to have it parked on the road. It would be a good idea to have it declared SORN for now and find somewhere to store it. As for the accident, any damage to your car will leave you out of pocket unless the people who did it are willing to pay you anyway. You won''t get into any trouble for having your car there unless the police see it. The accident after all wasn''t your fault and you weren''t in the car. yes it is illegal, you should have filled in a SORN, which means you have the vehicle off road as its not fit to be on it?? edit: yes..no insurance, no m.o.t = not fit to be on the road, therefore you should have filled in a sorn which is illegal if you dont declare it,and could result in a fine of about...

Q:

I want to move out of state with my kids but my ex is a butt?

A:  There are two sides to this situation. One concern is you taking his kids away. The other is should who you marry and how he earns a living be dictated by your ex husbands parental rights? I think this is a complicated legal issue that will have to litigated in court. You should probably look into consulting a good family lawyer to guide you through this. I''m sure the main issue is going to be what is in the best interest of the children. If you end up in court, your ex will win. What gives you the right to take the kids away from thier father? Now if he really doesn''t care, then you won''t have a problem. But YOU are taking them away. You don''t have them full time if he has them 3 nights a week and every other week-end - you share - and...

Q:

So my boyfriend is in a juvenile detention center but he''s almost 18 so what will happen when he turns 18 ?

A:  If he is in detention for a serious crime then he is going to the county jail. Time to find a decent boy friend and not some criminal. Depending on where you live they can keep him till he is 19.Most likely he will get sent to adult jail. Edit-They may let him out depending on what he did. iWas iN Juvy && There Was This 17 Yr Old && She Was Bout To Turn 18 && All They Did Was Let Her Out On Her 18th Birthday prison?...
